Checked on 20 October 2026. Bringing a parent or another relative to Kuwait calls for evidence connecting the visitor to the sponsor. Start with the family-visit requirements instead of adapting a tourist application by changing its title.
Assemble the core evidence
Kuwait Government Online's Ministry of Interior service lists a visit application, a copy of the visitor's passport with at least six months of validity, proof of kinship and a copy of the sponsor's Civil ID.
It specifically says embassy oath certificates are not recognised as proof of kinship. For a foreign sponsor employed in government, it lists a recent salary certificate or verification through the computerised system, as applicable.
This public service page is not a complete decision on every sponsor's eligibility. Confirm the evidence and any current sponsorship conditions for your employment situation through the ministry before submitting.
Read the family-visit conditions
The ministry's online instructions describe the single-entry family-visit category with a 30-day entry window from issuance and a stay of no more than 90 days after entry. Work is prohibited. Compare these general instructions with the permission actually granted to your relative.
Do not turn the entry deadline into the planned departure date. Record both dates after approval, particularly if the original flight changes.
Check names across the file
Before uploading, compare names and dates across passports, Civil ID and relationship records. If spelling differs between documents, ask how to document the connection rather than altering an official record.
Keep an individual folder for each relative and retain the submitted version. Avoid paying an intermediary on the promise that a large salary alone guarantees approval; the relevant authority must assess the actual application.
