A Kuwait tourist application should begin with the official Ministry of Interior visa portal. The portal separates application, status and support functions. Its application area also distinguishes tourist, family, business and government categories.
That distinction matters when advice is shared between travellers. A person visiting relatives under an invitation route may not be using the same permission as someone applying independently for tourism. A document checklist for one category should not automatically be copied into another.
Check the passport-based route first
The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry's embassy guidance publishes a list of nationalities with arrival-visa or electronic-application options. Use the current official list and the live application questions, rather than assuming that living in another Gulf state changes your nationality.
If a GCC residence document is relevant to your route, enter it accurately and confirm the applicable conditions. Do not substitute a short-term visit visa for residence evidence unless the specific service expressly accepts it.
Build an application record you can follow
Keep the submitted passport details, category, application reference and payment confirmation together. Use an email address you can access during travel. If a provider applies for you, request a copy of the application and ask who will answer official follow-up requests.
After approval, check the document itself: passport number, permitted purpose, arrival deadline, stay allowance and entry count. Do not infer the stay period from the validity of the application reference or a generic online table.
If your passport changes after applying, contact official support before travelling. Bringing both passports may be useful evidence, but it should not be assumed to resolve every record mismatch automatically. The same caution applies when the travel purpose changes after submission.
