Dubai Five-Year Tourist Visa: $4,000 Balance, Deposit and Stay Limits

Understand the six-month bank evidence, the separate security deposit and the 90/180-day conditions before applying for Dubai’s five-year tourist visa.

Checked on 21 October 2026. Dubai's five-year multiple-entry tourist visa can suit repeat visitors, but three different amounts are often confused: the money demonstrated in a bank account, the government charges, and the permitted time in the UAE. Understanding each separately makes it easier to compare an application with an agent's quotation.

The bank balance is evidence, not the visa fee

GDRFA Dubai requires evidence of a balance equivalent to US$4,000 over the six months before application. Its document list includes a six-month bank statement, passport copy, photograph, health insurance and a return ticket; the passport must have at least six months' validity.

The $4,000 requirement is not a payment to an immigration authority. Nor is a single screenshot necessarily equivalent to the requested statement history. Prepare the actual bank evidence and ask about acceptable formatting or currency conversion if the account is held elsewhere.

The security amount is a separate item

The Dubai service lists an AED 3,000 guarantee separately from application, issuance and other charges, and warns that the total can vary. Obtain an itemised payable total and the applicable guarantee-return conditions. Do not assume every amount described as a deposit will automatically be repaid in every situation.

Keep three lines in your budget: funds you need to demonstrate, charges you must pay, and money required for the visits themselves. This simple separation helps prevent an apparently affordable visa package from becoming an unrealistic travel plan.

Five years does not mean five years of residence

The UAE government describes this as a self-sponsored tourist route for multiple visits. The visa's long validity should not be confused with permission to live or work in the country indefinitely.

Dubai's detailed guidance describes a 90-day annual stay allowance, extendable for a similar period, with a maximum of 180 days in a year. It calculates the year from first entry. Unused days do not carry into the following year. Confirm the permission and extension applying to your own record before planning repeat stays.

Check the calendar before every visit

Imagine you intend to make several family visits across a year. Put each proposed arrival and departure on one calendar, then compare the combined days with the conditions on your permission. Do not restart your count merely because you booked a new flight.

Before submitting, confirm the first-entry deadline and the current application channel. After approval, review your passport details, insurance arrangements and stay conditions together. The useful feature of this visa is repeat tourism; it still requires attention to the rules on each trip.
