A Dubai holiday often begins with a hotel search. A better first step is to work out how you will enter the UAE. Your nationality, passport and intended visit determine which route to investigate. Another traveller’s approval is not evidence that the same arrangement applies to you.
Start with the official route
The UAE government’s tourist-visa page explains the available routes and links to authorised channels. It also describes a five-year, multiple-entry tourist visa with self-sponsorship, subject to its eligibility and documentary requirements. A five-year validity period should never be read as permission to remain continuously for five years.
Make a one-page trip brief
Before starting a form, write down your arrival and departure dates, where you expect to stay, who is paying and how often you plan to return. Keep the passport you will actually use beside you. A document folder labelled with your own name and trip dates is more useful than a collection of screenshots from unrelated applications.
- Check the official route for your passport and purpose.
- Read the permitted stay separately from the visa’s validity.
- Review the document list on the authority’s application page.
- Keep the application reference and payment receipt together.
Treat quotations carefully
When using an airline or travel provider, ask for a written breakdown of what the service covers. The visa category, government charge, service charge and any cancellation terms should be clear before payment. Avoid treating a marketing promise as a government decision.
Once issued, review the spelling, passport number, entry conditions and dates on your own permission. This guide is an orientation to the process; the current government service and your issued document are the places to confirm the conditions for your trip.
