Some travellers can use Türkiye's eVisa only when they meet additional conditions, including holding a qualifying visa or residence permit. The phrase supporting document is important: the document must fit the official route, not simply be any foreign visa you happen to possess.
Read the conditions for your own passport
Start the official eVisa process with your nationality and travel document. Review the conditions presented for that combination. Do not use a friend's checklist as proof, especially if their nationality or passport type is different.
The supporting-document FAQ addresses validity, but it does not make every passport eligible for an eVisa. Treat it as one part of the eligibility check.
Check the supporting document on the entry date
The official FAQ says a supporting visa or residence permit must remain valid by date when you enter Türkiye. It says previously used and unused single-entry visas can be accepted where their validity covers that entry date. It also states that other countries' eVisas are not accepted as supporting documents under this rule.
That is a specific distinction. A printed copy of an electronic approval does not turn it into a different document type. If your permission is digital and its classification is unclear, seek clarification before declaring that you meet the condition.
Prepare the documents together
As a practical check, compare the passport, supporting document and proposed arrival date in one sitting. Make a note of the exact condition you are relying on and keep the supporting evidence accessible during travel.
Do not pay an agent to select an eligibility checkbox that you cannot substantiate. If your supporting document expires before the planned arrival, changing the wording on the application will not solve that mismatch.
Your next step
Open the official evisa.gov.tr FAQ below, then return to the official application and read every condition for your passport. If you do not qualify, investigate the appropriate consular visa route. An accepted payment or a downloaded PDF should never replace checking the underlying requirements.
