Azerbaijan’s ASAN Visa: Validity Is Not the Same as Stay

Read the travel window and the permitted visit length as separate conditions.

Azerbaijan’s official ASAN Visa portal describes an electronic route for eligible visitors. Its guidance distinguishes a visa’s validity from the permitted stay: the FAQ describes a 90-day validity, while the application information describes a single-entry stay of up to 30 days.

Put the two periods in separate boxes

For planning purposes, record the period during which the visa can be used and the length of the visit separately. A long validity window does not automatically allow you to remain for that entire window.

The official information advises applying at least three working days before planned arrival and states that the passport should expire at least three months after the eVisa’s expiry date. Read the current requirements and the issued visa before making final plans.

Review the travel document

Use the passport you will actually carry. Check nationality, document number, names and dates before submission. If you have multiple passports, avoid switching between them during the application process.

Save the submitted information and payment receipt. A copy of the application can help you explain an issue if you later need official support.

Check more than the headline

Before travelling, read any applicable migration or registration instructions linked by the official portal. Entry permission and obligations during a stay are not necessarily the same thing.

Keep an accessible copy of the eVisa and your itinerary. If the visit will involve a purpose other than the category selected, or if your passport changes, ask the relevant authority how to proceed.

A concise plan and careful review of the official conditions are more useful than relying on a third-party promise of automatic approval. The final decision and its individual conditions govern your journey.
