Visa specialists reported this week that Russia’s unified electronic visa became more expensive at checkout. In coverage published on 15 October, VisasNews says applications processed with Action-Visas showed a rise from AED202 to AED238 from 14 October, approximately 18%.

That figure is an observed payment amount reported by the publication. It should not be presented as a universally applicable consular fee for every nationality, currency or visa category. We verified the official Russian e-visa portal, but the precise checkout total was not independently visible without progressing through an application.

Check the route before comparing prices

The official portal limits the unified e-visa to eligible nationalities and approved border crossing points. An electronic visa and a traditional consular application are separate routes. A faster consular service, where available, may have its own tariff and cannot be compared with an e-visa solely by looking at the cheapest headline number.

Before applying, confirm that the passport, visit purpose and intended entry point are eligible. Review the final amount, currency and payment-provider information before authorising a charge. Keep the receipt and distinguish government or processing charges from any optional service fee paid to an intermediary.

What a higher price does not establish

A price change does not by itself expand permitted activities, provide extra entries or extend the allowed stay. Read the conditions on the issued permission. Nor does payment guarantee approval or resolve separate travel restrictions and transport arrangements.

If an adviser quotes the new AED amount, ask whether it is the official checkout total or a bundled package price. For a family application, verify whether each traveller needs a separate application and what fees appear for their circumstances. Because payment arrangements and exchange rates can change, treat this week’s reported increase as a reason to recheck the live application, rather than as a permanent price guarantee. The news is useful for budgeting; the official application controls the transaction.
