A bank balance is only one part of explaining how a visit will be funded. The UK government’s visitor guidance points to financial documents that show access to funds and their origin, and it separately explains evidence for visits supported by a sponsor.
Make the funding arrangement clear
If you are paying, organise the evidence around your actual circumstances. If somebody else is supporting the visit, explain the relationship and what support is being provided. The official guidance asks for evidence relevant to those arrangements.
Do not borrow an arbitrary “required balance” from an online comment and assume it guarantees approval. The evidence should describe the real trip and finances accurately.
Review the documents together
For your own preparation, compare the proposed travel budget, the information on the form and the financial documents. If a statement includes an unusual transaction, consider whether the evidence needs a factual explanation. Never alter a statement or invent an explanation to improve the appearance of a file.
Keep original documents intact. Make a separate submission folder and label files by account holder and period so that you do not accidentally upload the wrong version.
Use the official list selectively
The UK guidance also identifies material that is less useful as visitor evidence. Adding documents simply to make the file larger may distract from the facts that matter. Follow the current guidance and provide information that is relevant to the question being assessed.
If your situation is complicated, seek advice about how to explain it truthfully. A well-organised file helps communicate the facts; it does not create eligibility or guarantee a decision. Use the current official instructions for your application rather than a general checklist shared without context.
